The image shows two people standing outdoors, facing each other. The person on the left is wearing a short-sleeved shirt with vertical stripes, 黑色的裤子, and is carrying a shoulder bag. The person on the right is dressed in a plaid shirt with long sleeves, jeans, and a white cap. In the background, there's a natural setting with trees and what appears to be a park area. You can see stone edging and outdoor furniture, and there are other people further in the background walking away from the camera.

Community Referrals

There are times when the Health and Counseling Center refers students to off campus providers, 专家, 医院, 还有其他诊所. HCC offers case management services that involve having a consultation with a clinician that will help you get connected to what type of service you need, whether that be local, 回家, 或远程. Below are some resources we have put together to make this process easier.

我们的 case management info gives you an idea of the things you may want to consider when trying to find a provider in the community. The first step in successfully connecting to an off-campus provider is collecting your health insurance information. 所有的圣. Edward's University students are required to have medical insurance, which makes the referral process feasible. Often times, insurance websites can help you find a provider that accepts your type of insurance. 保险卡片 often times provide all the information a provider will need to utilize your insurance and schedule an appointment.

There is a large variety of search tools available to you based on different concerns and demographics, accessible from the comfort of your own home. 作为一个St. Edward's student, you also have access to the Emergency Resource Toolkit.

有时, based on your needs and/or geographical location, it can be challenging to find a provider that is within your insurance network. In addition to exploring out of network providers and what that means, you may also want to consider alternatives to insurance.

We know there are many options for our students and the community in terms of finding the type of service they need, and that can be overwhelming. Know that the HCC is readily available to assist with getting you connected. If wanting to speak with a clinician at HCC about getting connected off campus through case management services, call us at (512) 448-8538 during business hours, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. A clinician will reach out to you to learn more about what your needs are.

Mental Health Resources for BIPOC Community

统计, the BIPOC community is disproportionately challenged when it comes to access to mental health resources, may be more susceptible to stressors, and are also less likely to utilize existing options.

We at HCC want to ensure that students know their options for support, both on and off campus. Please see our list of additional resources curated for our BIPOC community.
